Sports Nostalgia Radio - Live from South Beach
In the early 1990s, I had a show on Sunday nights at 7:00 p.m. where I interviewed retired athletes and relived great sports moments from the past. (WSBH 1490) Some interviews were live and others were taped at events such as the MLBPA/Comic Relief Benefit, Dan Marino Charity Golf Classic, Joe DiMaggio Legends Game, NATPE, and the Lipton Tennis Open. (now the Miami Open). In 2004, I was interviewed for several ESPN Classic segments on OJ Simpson, Pete Rose, and Nancy Kerrigan / Tonya Harding. Below is an article I wrote after several conversations with Olympian Bob Beamon. This piece appeared in the program given out at a formal dinner event to honor Mr. Beamon (25th Anniversary of Long Jump record, Mexico City, 1968).
